How To Join

4-H is a youth development program that offers 3rd through 12th grade youth, ages 8 to 18, a wide variety of opportunities in various project areas. 4-H offers members hands-on experiences in leadership, community service, career discovery, building connections, and developing life-long skills.

  • 4-H Members

The Aquatic Science Project focuses its participants on the life in, on, and around the water and those specific live organisms, plants and animals. This project area overlaps with several other project areas or provides plenty of exploration by itself. You can dive deep into all aquatic life learning how to conserve and manage the water in which they live.

Natural Resources Photography Contest

The Texas 4-H Natural Resources Photography Contest encourages observation within specific Natural Resources project areas and allows youth to demonstrate skills learned in the area of photography, including the use of photographic equipment and processing of photographs. This contest provides another opportunity to showcase the photographic work of 4-H members in all age divisions.

Texas Freshwater Fisheries Center Fish Art Contest ​​

The Fish Art Contest sparks the imaginations of students and provides valuable lessons about fish and the importance of conserving Texas’ aquatic resources. Art, science, and creative writing foster a connection to the outdoors and inspire the next generation of stewards. ​

Water Ambassadors Program

The Texas 4-H Water Ambassadors Program provides high school youth an opportunity to gain advanced knowledge and develop leadership skills related to the science, technology, engineering, and management of water in Texas.
