Four individuals wearing green 4-H shirts walk together outdoors under a large tree. The shirts feature 4-H clover logos and slogans such as “Beyond Ready.” This image represents teamwork and community involvement for One Day service activities.Texas 4-H members take pride in the communities they call home. Whether they live in cities, towns, or rural areas, 4-H’ers work year-round to make their communities better, and they rely on help to do it. In 2009, Texas 4-H created One Day 4-H to give members a way to thank their communities, counties, and state for supporting 4-H for more than 110 years.

How do you participate in One Day 4-H?

  • 4-H members and their clubs/county programs should start now on identifying and planning a community service project.
  • All necessary supplies, equipment, and resources are to be secured to ensure the project is completed.
  • Advertise/market your project to locate media and others in the community so they will know the difference you, and 4-H, is making.
  • Sign your project up at the one day 4-H website
  • Conduct your project and then report your successes at the one day 4-H website.

Contact your local county Extension office for information about local one day 4-H events.

One Day 4-H Information

Texas 4-H will be looking for the events that make the biggest impact in the following five categories from across the state:

  • Blood Drive
  • Goods Drive (Clothing, Food, Pet Supplies)
  • Recruitment (New member enrollment, 4 more for 4-H)
  • Hands-on Service (highway clean-up, park clean-up, manual labor, etc.)
  • Partnership Service (working with another non-profit: helping at an animal shelter to bathe animals, clean runs, build ramps, build beds, etc.).

The counties that make the biggest impact on One Day (October 11th) in each of the five categories will earn a $100 gift card for their club or county and receive a banner to hang in their county office. The banner is scheduled to be presented on Tuesday night at the 2026 Texas 4-H Roundup.
