One Day 4-H

Texas 4-H members have always been proud of the communities they call home. Whether they live in cities, towns, or rural areas, 4-H’ers make their communities better year-round, but they couldn’t do it without help. One Day 4-H was created in 2009 as a way for all 4-H members to say “thank you” to their communities, counties, and state for all the support they have provided to 4-H for over 110 years.

How do you participate?

  • 4-H members and their clubs/county programs should start now on identifying and planning a community service project.
  • Work to secure all the necessary supplies/equipment/resources to get the project done.
  • Advertise/market your project to locate media and others in the community so they will know the difference you, and 4-H, is making.
  • Sign your project up at the one day 4-H website
  • Conduct your project and then report your successes at the one day 4-H website.

Contact your local county Extension office for information about local one day 4-H events.

Changes for 2025

This year, we want to take One Day 4-H back to its roots and see the impact that Texas 4-H can make across the state in One Day (October 11, 2025).

Therefore, Texas 4-H will be looking for the events that make the biggest impact in the following five categories from across the state:

  • Blood Drive
  • Goods Drive (Clothing, Food, Pet Supplies)
  • Recruitment (New member enrollment, 4 more for 4-H)
  • Hands-on Service (highway clean-up, park clean-up, manual labor, etc.)
  • Partnership Service (working with another non-profit: helping at an animal shelter to bathe animals, clean runs, build ramps, build beds, etc.).

The county/counties determined to make the largest impact on One Day (October 11th) in each of the above five categories will receive a $100 gift card for their club/county and will be presented with a banner on Tuesday night of the 2026 Texas 4-H Roundup to hang in their county office.
