One of the handouts for the 9-12 grade curriculum was inadvertently omitted from the curriculum. The handout is referenced on page 16 under “Handouts” as “Facts for Teens: Bullying (5 parts).” The handout is used for the Jigsaw discussion activity in part one of lesson 1.
4-H LESSONS
These lessons are excellent resources to use to introduce 4-H to a classroom. They can be adapted pretty easily for different grade levels.

Teacher Evaluations
This is an open ended survey to use with teachers at the conclusion of the Take A Stand program. Information from this survey can be used to provide data for outcome summaries and we are especially interested to see if there is a decline in the number of discipline referrals! Counties who use this document are encouraged to provide a copy of completed forms.

- Speaker and Author: Lizzie Valesquez – Lizzie details her life experience living with a rare syndrome that does not allow her to gain weight. Hear about the negativity, teasing and bullying she encounters on a daily basis, and how she deals with it. Lizzie has written a book called “Lizzie Beautiful.” Lizzie was the capstone speaker for 2011 Texas Teen Retreat – link
- Speaker and Author: Brooks Gibbs – Brooks grew up in a dysfunctional family shattered by divorce and addiction. As a result his amazing story is one of learning disabilities and emotional insecurities turned into a compelling tale of life transformation! Blending truth and humor, his story is powerful and relevant to all who hear him. His book, “Love is Greater Than Hate,” is an excellent tool for teens to learn strategies for dealing with bullying. – link
- Speakers: Nana Puddin’ Productions – This company books engagements for a wide variety of performers ranging from ventriloquists, musicians, illusionists, sports stunt performers, juggling, and more. Messages by these performers focus on bullying, positive self esteem and self worth, character, developing up to your potential, and more. The website provides information on each performer. – link
- Words Can Work – This company provides educational resources, some of which relate to bullying. The Bullying: True Stories DVD and Discussion Guide are excellent tools to use with middle school and high school students. Resources are also available on a variety of other topics. - link

- Texas Anti-Bullying Laws & Policies – This website offers information on what is specifically applied to Texas in legislation.
- U.S. Department of Health & Human Services - The “Stop Bullying Now” kit can be ordered free of charge by educators. A DVD, activity guide and campaign resource kit may be ordered.
- Teaching Tolerance: A Project of the Sourthern Poverty Law Center - this link is to a bullying quiz and at the bottom of the page, you will find links to other resources.
