SOMETHING'S FISHY

Something's Fishy

The Something's Fishy module and school enrichment program is another fantastic educational program for young people. We all know the importance of water quality and conservation in Texas today. The Something's Fishy program, information about water resources mingles naturally with facts about fish, sportfishing, and Texas aquaculture industry. Although Texas contains one of the most diverse populations of wildlife and fish species in the United States, many young people, including those who live in rural Texas, have little knowledge of our natural resources in general, and aquatic ecology and water issues in particular. Young people need to understand the importance of our water and wildlife resources, and what they can do to conserve them.

Components of the entire program include:

  • a free-standing display (pictured below)
  • an interactive computer program
  • video tapes
  • classroom lesson plans
